Student Travel Grants

The Wildlife Society announces the availability of travel grants for TWS student members presenting a technical paper or poster at the Society's Annual Conference held each fall. Travel grants of up to $500 will be awarded to a limited number of students.

Guidelines
To be eligible, an individual’s paper/poster first must be accepted for presentation by the Program Committee, the organizer of a TWS-sanctioned symposium, special poster session, or the Student Research-in-Progress Poster Session.

Applications for student travel grants are accepted May 14 to June 18, 2010 only.

In addition, applicants must meet the following eligibility standards:

a member of The Wildlife Society (dues may be sent with application),
a current student or recent graduate (degree received during current or previous year),
senior author and presenter of the accepted paper or poster, and
not a recipient of a Student Travel Grant in previous year.

completed application form (signed by student and advisor),
projected conference travel expenses,
budget showing any other potential travel funding,
abstract of paper/poster, and
draft or final text of paper/poster to be presented (2,500 word maximum).

Failure to provide all requested materials will disqualify the applicant.

Note: Recipients must pay the appropriate conference registration fee by the early registration deadline.

All applicants will be notified of action taken in July.
